Hay River RCMP say they are charging two people, one of them a 17-year-old from Alberta, after a Sunday operation on Saskatoon Drive.

Seven people were initially arrested, police said, but five have since been released without charge.

RCMP said officers found “a small quantity of crack-cocaine, approximately $2500 in cash, and evidence supporting drug trafficking activity” during the search.

The 17-year-old male is charged with offences related to trafficking and possessing property obtained by crime. He was remanded into custody, RCMP said.

A 35-year-old Hay River woman was released to attend court at a later date, police added.
