RCMP in Hay River said late on Monday their operation on the town’s Pine Crescent had ended. The outcomes aren’t yet clear.
“Residents of the community may notice an increased police presence,” police stated in a brief news release just after 4:30pm, urging residents to avoid the area and not post details of the operation online.
The street, in the town’s 553 neighbourhood, has been the site of multiple police operations in recent years.
In an update just before midnight, RCMP said the operation “has concluded and there is no further risk to the public.”
No further information about what had taken place was provided.
