A new water licence does not guarantee the mine will be built, but helps pave the way for that to happen.
Here’s the full agenda for the two-day hearing, hosted by regulator the Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board.
Fortune will present about its plans on Tuesday morning, then Indigenous, territorial and federal government representatives will use the remaining time to ask questions and present their own feedback.
The public hearing is being held at the Johnny Nitsiza Community Centre in Whatì from 9am-5pm each day. Interpretation in Tłı̨chǫ is available and it’s open to the public.
A community dinner with raffle prizes is being held from 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesday.
If you want to send the regulator a comment or question to be read out on the record during the hearing, email Kassandra deFrancis.
