Gold medallists from last week’s Skills Canada NWT Territorial Competition are in line for a trip to nationals in Toronto at the end of May.

The competition, held on Friday, April 17 at the Summit Air hangar at Yellowknife Airport, brought together 42 secondary competitors and nine post-secondary competitors across 18 trades and technology categories.

Competitors came from Yellowknife, Hay River, Fort Resolution, Inuvik, Ndılǫ and Behchokǫ̀, organizers said.

Gold, silver and bronze winners were announced at a closing ceremony at the Legislative Assembly that evening.

Skills Canada NWT said more than 600 visitors came through, mostly students from Yellowknife schools. The event featured Try-A-Trade stations alongside education and career booths.
