The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation says its group of companies generated a record $137.9 million in earnings for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.
In a news release on Wednesday, the IRC said the “prudent investment strategy” of the group – which includes the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, Inuvialuit Investment Corporation, Inuvialuit Development Corporation, Inuvialuit Petroleum Corporatio and Inuvialuit Land Corporation – helped raise its overall assets to $1.91 billion.
Each year, some earnings are paid to beneficiaries and the rest are “reinvested to support community priorities and the long-term wellbeing of future generations.”
“These funds help support household needs, strengthen local economies, and create opportunities that contribute to healthier, more resilient communities today while laying a foundation for future generations,” IRC Chair Erwin Elias was quoted as saying.
According to the IRC, each of the 5,050 enrolled beneficiaries will receive this year’s distribution payment of $1,706 on May 1 – a 27-percent increase on 2025’s payment.
