Expect a test alert on your phone at about 9:55am on Wednesday, May 6 if you’re in the Northwest Territories.
The GNWT said in a Tuesday statement it’s planning a test of its public alerting system.
The test comes with spring breakup and wildfire season on the horizon – each being potential sources of emergencies.
“Residents should see and hear the public alert test on wireless devices, cable networks and radio stations across the NWT,” the territorial government stated.
Similar tests are due elsewhere in Canada on the same day. You can get more information from the national Alert Ready website.
