Wild Rose fairs return to the Northwest Territories in August and September with fairs in Yellowknife, Behchokǫ̀, Hay River and Fort Smith.

The pilot killed when a helicopter came down near Behchokǫ̀ this week was working on a tree planting project, the Tłı̨chǫ Government confirmed.

"The tree provides everything." Workers will plant 1.4 million trees around Behchokǫ̀ this summer as part of an ambitious reforestation project.
Rain helped crews bring some fires under control in the Beaufort Delta, while drivers said fires along a stretch of Highway 3 are now close to the road.
The NWT government issued an advisory warning drivers on Highway 3 between Behchokǫ̀ and Fort Providence that a nearby wildfire could disrupt their travel.
