Introduction to Coercive Control – Training Session
REGISTRATION FORM: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/hgqTNwtAAY
Join YWCA NWT from 11am to 1pm on December 4 for informative training on coercive control as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Coercive control is an insidious form of family/intimate partner violence that is deeply harmful to those experiencing it, with impacts that reverberate over a lifetime. It’s also often a signal of further – and more dangerous – violence to come.
Yet, coercive control remains largely under-discussed and misunderstood.
That’s why we’re hosting a short training session for community members in the Northwest Territories who want to learn more about this important topic. We’ll take a closer look at what coercive control is and what it can look like, as well as different resources for support and information.
This training is free and open to anyone who wishes to take it. It will be held virtually over Zoom. Please fill out the registration form above to receive access to the meeting link. We encourage employers to allow employees space in their day to participate, if they wish.
YWCA NWT acknowledges that the topics covered in this training can be difficult to discuss. If you would like to speak to someone, call our 24/7 crisis line at Alison McAteer House: (867) 873-8257
(Yellowknife) or 1 (866) 223-7775 (toll-free).

We’ll see you there!
