Former Det’on Cho leader Paul Gruner has returned to the NWT as the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation’s chief executive.
Gruner spent five years at Det’on Cho Management, the business wing of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, before quitting to lead the BC-based Tahltan Nation Development Corporation at the start of 2022.
He resigned from that post in late August and began at the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation on Monday.
“I have always had a great deal of respect for the Tłı̨chǫ Nation. Truly an honour to join the team and be a part of it all,” Gruner posted to LinkedIn on his first day.
The Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, which is the Tłı̨chǫ Government’s business arm, said Gruner “has proven results in strengthening organizations and building them into sustainable, profitable entities that have the leadership and resiliency to operate for generations.”
