Folk on the Rocks releases ‘second wave’ of artists for 2024

Folk on the Rocks added a raft of Canadian talent to this year’s lineup in its second of three artist reveals on Friday.

Last month’s initial announcement included Polaris winner Debby Friday, Jamaican-Canadian reggae musician Ammoye and the returning Mo Kenney.

Friday’s follow-up adds YouTube streamer turned pop act Haley Blais, Juno nominee and “breakout alt-diva” Begonia, Nunavik indie-pop singer Beatrice Deer, Vancouver rock act Babe Corner, and Algerian-Canadian songwriter and DJ Aladean Kheroufi.

Also on Friday’s list are Toronto singer Skye Wallace, Montreal guitarist Clerel, Anishinaabe DJ and producer Boogey the Beat, Nix & Menno formerly of Ottawa indie band Hollerado, Hamilton singer-songwriter Mattie Leon, and family folk act Ginalina.

Northern acts named on Friday include Tanya Snow, Gnarwhal, The Dandy Lions, Troublesome 96, the Aurora Fiddle Society and Northern Mosaic Network.

Previously confirmed northern performers are the Yellowknives Dene Drummers, the David Gon Band, Ryan McCord, Miranda Currie, Frog Poison, BrandonSonnet, Big Blue, Amy and the Easy Hundo, and the Glam on the Rocks burlesque show.

Other acts already on the 2024 lineup are Thomas Thomas, Bruno Capinan, Andrina Turenne and techno artist Sean Beaver.

A third and final artist announcement is expected on May 17. Early-bird tickets are available until May 12.

Cabin Radio will broadcast full, live coverage of Folk’s main stage, beer garden stage and the Cabin Stage throughout the festival.
