Yellowknife residents can now call or email the city’s fire hall to book a free assessment of their property for wildfire risk.

Homes, business and other properties can get an assessment with “specific recommendations of actions and upgrades … to increase their property’s resilience to wildfire.”

Multiple levels of government have urged NWT residents to start firesmarting their property as a first step to bolster defences in case another severe fire season develops.

To book an assessment in Yellowknife, call 867-766-5502 or email the fire hall.
