Folk on the Rocks has released the 10-act shortlist for its Main Stage Showdown contest, which will select a local act to fill a main stage slot at the 2026 festival.
Each performer gets a 10-minute slot at the Explorer Hotel from 6pm on June 6. A jury will choose the winning act.
Previous winners of space on the Yellowknife music festival’s main stage include HYFY in 2025, Refrijerater in 2024 and Prime Time in 2023.
This year’s lineup will feature:

- Sami Blanco (sunaïra / temple volant)
- Lil Vogel
- Rob Elo
- Travina Lynn
- Georges C
- Evie from Earth
- Sun Starved
Alongside the chance to appear on the main stage during the festival weekend of July 17-19, 2026, the winning act also gets $500 and artist passes to the event.
