Investigation after cab burns on Yellowknife’s Con Road

Police said an investigation is under way after a vehicle fire on Yellowknife’s Con Road early on Sunday morning.

A resident reported a City Cab vehicle caught fire shortly after 5am on Sunday. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. Cabin Radio understands nobody was hurt.

“We didn’t hear anything until the fire trucks showed up,” said a resident of a nearby home. “The cab is wrecked.”

RCMP said on Monday in a statement: “At approximately 5:15am on Sunday, Yellowknife RCMP received a call for service to attend a vehicle on fire in the area of Rycon Drive and Con Road.

“The City of Yellowknife Fire Division attended the scene and extinguished the fire. Yellowknife RCMP is assisting the Office of the Fire Marshal in the investigation.”
