The organization that oversees safety at work in the Northwest Territories has published a new guide designed to help employers improve safety.
The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission said its Workplace Safety Planning Guide had been released on Thursday to tie in with North America’s annual Safety and Health Week.
“The new guide is designed to help employers to understand their legal responsibilities and how to build and maintain a safety program,” WSCC president and chief executive officer Rick Hunt was quoted as saying in a news release.
The guide is available from the WSCC website.
“There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to safety planning, but every workplace must have some key elements in place,” said Hunt.
“This guide breaks down the basics in a simple, practical way to help employers set up or improve their safety program – no matter what industry they work in.”
