Riley Jordan Moyah has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2022 death of Roland Lamalice in Hay River.
RCMP charged Moyah, now 26, with murder in January 2022 after police said they discovered a man’s body on Lagoon Road earlier that month.
Moyah pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and guilty to a charge of manslaughter in the death of Lamalice, 24, in Territorial Court in Hay River on Monday, as first reported by CBC.
A two-day sentencing hearing for Moyah is expected to be set later this month.
