A 14-year-old found with a gunshot wound in Fort McPherson in the early hours of Sunday is in a stable condition, police say.

In a Tuesday news release, RCMP said officers found the child – whose name was not given – after receiving a report of shots fired on Charles Koe Road just before 4am on September 7.

“The youth was transported to the health centre and later flown from the community for treatment. They are reported to be in stable condition,” police stated.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“Investigation into this matter remains ongoing with support from RCMP Forensic Identification Services, the Major Crimes Unit and the Territorial Crime Reduction Unit,” RCMP stated.
