The NWT’s health authority has released its 2025 flu vaccine schedule.

Clinics are primarily for this year’s influenza vaccine, though the Covid-19 immunization will also be available upon request, the authority stated.

In many communities – Fort Simpson, Fort Liard, Jean Marie River, Nahanni Butte, Sambaa K’e, Wrigley, Fort McPherson, Aklavik, Paulatuk, Ulukhaktok, Colville Lake, Łútsël K’é, Fort Resolution, Hay River, Enterprise and Kátł’odeeche First Nation – residents are asked to call their local health centres to book a vaccination appointment.

In Yellowknife, walk-in clinics for seniors will be held at the extended care unit, Baker Community Centre and Avens.

A public walk-in clinic will be held at the Lakeshore Co-op and in the lower level of Centre Square Mall. Dates for Yellowknife clinics have changed since this article was first published – refer to the health authority’s website for the latest dates and times.

In Fort Smith, a walk-in vaccination clinic will start at the health centre in the afternoon on October 20, and then run full days after that until October 24. In Inuvik, the clinic will run full days from 8:30am until 5pm that same week.

In the Sahtu, flu vaccines will be available in Fort Good Hope and Tulita on October 6, and Norman Wells and Délı̨nę starting on October 7.

Fort Providence is the first community able to access flu vaccines this year, with its clinic starting on October 4 at 10am at the health centre.

For a full list of dates, times and locations for walk-in clinics, as well as health centre phone numbers, check out the flu vaccine schedule.

The authority said the schedule will be updated as more clinics are set up.
