Yellowknife RCMP said a 34-year-old woman has passed away after being found unresponsive aboard a KLM Dreamliner, which made an emergency landing in Yellowknife on Sunday in an effort to get the woman to medical care.
The plane was heading from Amsterdam to Los Angeles when it diverted to Yellowknife around 9:45am MT.
Police and paramedics met the plane at the Yellowknife airport and transported the woman to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
RCMP said medical professionals on the plane as well as first responders attempted to revive the woman.
Her death is under investigation by the RCMP in partnership with the NWT Coroner’s Service.
