Police in Inuvik say they are investigating a homicide reported on Thursday evening at a business on the town’s Industrial Road.
According to police, a 38-year-old woman found at the scene was taken to hospital before being pronounced deceased.
A 47-year-old man was taken into custody without incident, RCMP stated in a Friday news release. Nobody involved was named.
“It is believed that the suspect and victim were known to each other. The suspect remains in custody,” police stated.
“The Northwest Territories Coroner’s Service has been engaged. A further update will be provided when more information is available.”
