Skills Canada NWT’s territorials are returning to the Summit Air hangar in Yellowknife on April 17.

The annual competition for NWT youth to show off their skills will include 18 trades and technology categories.

The full list includes automobile technology, baking, cabinetmaking, carpentry, cooking, electrical installations, fashion technology, hairstyling, heavy vehicle technology, mobile robotics, outdoor power and recreation equipment, photography, plumbing, public speaking, traditional sewing, video production, welding, and workplace safety.

Students and apprentices who place at the top of their trade have a chance to advance to the national Skills Canada competition, which takes place in Toronto over May 28-29.

Registration for the territorial event opens on February 6.
