Police are asking for help identifying a male in connection with the theft of a “large sum of cash” from a home in the Old Town and Latham Island area.

On the evening of Christmas Day, police say a homeowner reported the cash had been taken from their home. In a press release Friday, police stated they believe a male entered the home while the homeowner was inside and took the cash.

The RCMP are asking anyone who might have had contact with, or video footage of, a man who was in the Latham Island and Old Town area on December 25 between 5 and 8pm. Police believe the man was possibly wearing a green or dark coat or parka.

On the evening prior, Christmas Eve, police stated people observed a man who was similarly dressed in the same area between 7 and 10pm. “The male was seen in the area, carrying a shovel, and was offering to clear snow from the residences, driveways, sidewalks,” the RCMP news release stated.
