A person accused of having twice broken into Yellowknife’s Boston Pizza restaurant on Thursday has been apprehended, RCMP say.
Officers say they responded to the break-ins, which took place hours apart, and identified a single suspect who is accused in both incidents.
Police – who have been pushing for bail reform nationally and in the NWT – said a release order had been issued for the same person two days earlier, including charges of assault, uttering threats, failure to comply with court orders and assaulting a police officer.
The accused, whom RCMP did not identify, is reportedly charged with two counts of breaking and entering, failure to comply with a release order and resisting arrest.
The suspect remains in custody, an RCMP spokesperson said.
