Congrats, Yellowknife. You ate your way through 1,734 burgers in the first-ever Yellowknife Burger Week, raising thousands of dollars for the YK Food Bank.

Every burger eaten earned between $1 and $4 for the YK Food Bank. In total, the 10 participating restaurants raised $3,427 for the food bank through your orders during January’s burger week.

Coleen McClean, representing the YK Food Bank, praised the “exceptional help … all different sectors of Yellowknife” have given the charity in recent months.

Cammy Mailloux won the burger week’s grand prize of free return flights courtesy of Canadian North.

Cammy was one of hundreds of Yellowknife residents who took part in burger week and collected at least three stamps in her passport, allowing her to enter the draw. (Watch the draw here.)

Winners of gift cards for Yellowknife restaurants were: Jaclynn Bryan, Grace Lau-a, Steven Pattingale, Craig Taggart, Cheryl Keats, Alberto Valero, Philip McCarty, and Brett McGarry.

If that’s you, bring some ID to Cabin Radio any weekday between 8am and 5pm to collect your prize.

We’ll be back with more culinary events in future. Thanks to everyone who took part in Yellowknife Burger Week, and to the event’s fantastic sponsors: Canadian North, Signed, and CDÉTNO.
