A funeral service for the late Andrew Debogorski will be held at Yellowknife’s St Patrick’s Church on Friday, January 11.

The open-casket service will begin at 11am, the family said, followed by a luncheon at the gymnasium of the nearby École St Patrick High School.

Having received the Debogorski family’s consent, Cabin Radio will broadcast live video of the service for those unable to attend in person.

This will be found on Cabin Radio’s Facebook page from shortly before 11am on the day, and will be available to view in full after the service concludes.

The family said the service is open to the public.

Andrew, who was 32, is remembered as one of Yellowknife’s most creative and dynamic residents. He passed away in a fire at his 51A Avenue home on Friday, December 28, having also lived with the disease ALS since mid-2017.

An online fundraiser for his wife, Myriam, and their two children – who safely escaped the fire – exceeded its target of $25,000 within two days of being established. More than 250 people have so far donated.
