RCMP say officers have been called to a vehicle fire on Highway 3 between Yellowknife and Behchokǫ̀.
The incident was reported to Cabin Radio by drivers passing through the area. A photo from the scene shows a burning car next to assorted debris by the side of the road.
The highway remains open according to all available information as of 4:55pm on Wednesday.
“I can confirm that the Behchokǫ̀ RCMP were called to a vehicle fire near kilometre marker 270 on Highway 3,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl Matt Halstead told Cabin Radio.
Halstead said there was no immediate word regarding injuries. Marker 270 is about 25 km east of Behchokǫ̀.

What happened, and the number of vehicles and people involved, was not clear.
RCMP said an update would be provided once more information is available.
