NWT Parks has indefinitely postponed a grand opening for the territory’s newest public campground.
North Arm Territorial Park – near kilometre 232 along Highway 3, just south of Behchokǫ̀ – was due to host an opening ceremony on Tuesday, July 16.
Visitors would have been offered a tour of the park facilities, with free transportation planned from Yellowknife and Behchokǫ̀.
However, NWT Parks said late last week the event had been “postponed until further notice.”
The campground, which offers 15 powered campsites, an accessible playground, a kitchen shelter and outhouses, opened to visitors on May 15.
