A 19-year-old from Alberta is accused of drug trafficking and gun-related offences after an RCMP search of a Yellowknife home early on Thursday.

Police said three people were initially arrested at the scene. Officers were said to have found 100 grams of suspected crack cocaine, three loaded guns, around $12,000 in cash and “other drug trafficking paraphernalia.”

While RCMP provided no location for the arrests, the CBC reported an incident on Thursday morning in the Northlands neighbourhood that matched details issued by police.

Two of those arrested were later released, police said.

According to RCMP, Jackito Guiwan of Alberta is charged with two offences related to trafficking, seven counts related to illegal use of firearms, and one count of possessing property obtained by crime.
