Photos: RCMP Musical Ride in Hay River
The RCMP Musical Ride performed in front of a sold-out crowd in Hay River on Sunday afternoon.
More than two-dozen horses and their uniformed officers showed off choreographed drills for the 1,200 people in attendance at the Keith Broadhead Memorial Twin Park.
Local musicians opened for the horses and riders, including the Kátł’odeeche First Nation Drummers, the Kole Crook Fiddling Association, and Hay River’s Filipino Marching Band.
The Musical Ride performs across the country between May and October each year, helping to raise money for local charities. In Hay River, money made at the concession stand went to the town’s Family Support Centre, a domestic violence centre raising money to build a new women’s shelter.
