Air Canada appears set to move its Yellowknife-Toronto flights to a schedule that revolves around weekends from the spring of 2025.

At the moment, the airline’s direct flights connect Toronto to Yellowknife on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings. Red-eye flights from Yellowknife to Toronto depart the NWT capital just after midnight on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

From early May, that schedule looks like it will change to one focused on weekends.

According to the latest copies of Air Canada’s printed schedule, from May 2, Toronto-Yellowknife flights – operated by Air Canada Rouge – will leave Ontario at 8:55pm ET on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

From May 3, flights from Yellowknife to Toronto will depart at 12:20am MT on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

The schedule suggests the change will remain in place for the remainder of 2025. From May to late October, the flights will be operated by Airbus A319 aircraft rather than the Airbus A220s that have been in regular use on the route. (The schedule and the aircraft assigned are subject to change.)

Air Canada’s latest printed schedule shows one flight each way daily between Yellowknife and Edmonton, with two flights daily on most days between Yellowknife and Vancouver. The airline hasn’t operated a regular direct service between Yellowknife and Calgary since late 2022.

WestJet offers daily Yellowknife-Calgary flights alongside service to Edmonton two to four times a week, depending on the time of year (with more flights in summer).

Canadian North connects Yellowknife and Edmonton at least once each way daily.
