Fort Good Hope death being treated as suspicious, RCMP say

RCMP in Fort Good Hope say the death of a 29-year-old man who was found deceased on Monday is being treated as suspicious.

In a brief news release on Tuesday, police said the man had been found after officers were called to a home for a wellbeing check.

The man’s identity was not made public and no further details were provided about the nature of what may have taken place.

“The death has been determined to be suspicious in nature and the Northwest Territories RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation,” the news release stated.

“Residents of Fort Good Hope can expect to see an increased police presence in the community in the coming days as the investigation continues.”
