RCMP say they have arrested and charged a youth in connection to a fatal stabbing in Fort Good Hope over the weekend.
In a Monday press release, police said they received a report around 11:20am on Sunday that a person had been stabbed at a residence in the community.
RCMP said officers located a female victim with severe injuries at the home and transported her to the local health centre, where she died shortly afterward.
That person’s name has not been made public.
RCMP said they have arrested a 14-year-old girl and charged her with murder in relation to the death.

Police said she appeared before a justice of the peace and was remanded into custody to appear in court in Yellowknife on Tuesday.
As the accused is a youth, her name cannot be published in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
