North of North has its Netflix launch this week

Fresh off its Canadian airing, North of North is set to launch globally on Netflix.

The Arctic comedy series, which was filmed in Iqaluit, is currently available for Canadian viewers to stream on CBC Gem and APTN Lumi.

Starting Thursday, the TV show will also be available to stream on Netflix.

The series is set in the fictional Arctic community of Ice Cove and follows young Inuk mother Siaja as she builds a new, independent life for herself.

A co-production between CBC, APTN and Netflix, it debuted on CBC and APTN in January.

The show has been rated eight out of 10 stars by 667 viewers on the Internet Movie Database. Its media coverage includes the likes of The Tyee, Broadview Magazine, Elle magazine, Global News and Exclaim!
