Norman Wells spent the weekend holding its annual Spring Fling, with events ranging from dancing and karaoke to pancake breakfasts and a mini carnival.

Cotton candy was a big hit among kids in the Sahtu town, as was the bouncy castle.

Adults, meanwhile, tried their hand at tea boiling, greasy stick pull and nail pounding.

Friday’s fireworks had to be postponed due to snowy weather, but the schedule also included the likes of soccer, basketball, a scavenger hunt, live music and a community barbecue as a finale.

“I love these community events,” said photographer Bill Braden, who sent these images. “They really bring people together for a welcome start to spring after a long winter.”
