All 109 polls in the Northwest Territories are now reporting and Liberal candidate Rebecca Alty is the winner with 53.8 percent of the vote.
The results – which remain preliminary – show Kimberly Fairman finished second for the Conservatives with 33.2 percent.
Kelvin Kotchilea was third with 12 percent as the New Democratic Party vote collapsed in the NWT, as it did across much of Canada.
Green Party candidate Rainbow Eyes, who lives in British Columbia and did not campaign in the NWT, received one percent of the vote – the Greens’ worst performance in the riding’s history.
At 54.7 percent, turnout was 7.5 percentage points up on 2021 (47.2 percent) but still well below the national average of 68.5 percent.
Here’s a look at results in the NWT since 2015. The territory has now been Liberal-held in the past four elections.
