The GNWT has announced it is once again accepting applications for the Take a Family on the Land program.
The aim of the program is to help offset the costs of participating in on-the-land activities such as camping, fishing, hunting, boating and traditional activities, so more northerners can get involved.
Grants of up to $10,000 will be available to “all family combinations, including 2SLGBTQIPA+ families, single-parent families and multigenerational families,” according to a Wednesday NWT government press release.
Indigenous governments, Indigenous organizations, community governments or not-for-profit associations in the NWT can apply for funding to support their communities.
Individuals cannot apply for the grants directly but can approach indigenous organizations to apply on their behalf, the territory stated.
Applications will be open from July 1 to August 15, 2025. For more information, visit the GNWT’s website.
