The NWT government has lifted a boil-water advisory issued for the community of Tsiigehtchic because of muddy water earlier this month.
The boil-water advisory was issued on June 12 and lifted on the evening of Friday, June 27.
In a Friday update, the territory’s chief environmental health officer said no illnesses had been associated with the drinking water during the course of the boil-water advisory.
Turbidity levels – in other words, the muddiness of water from Tsiigehtchic’s treatment plant – had dropped to an acceptable point, the GNWT stated.
The plant and water delivery truck have been sanitized “to remove potential microbial contamination,” the update added, and normal use of drinking water can resume.
