Last year’s Snowkings’ Winter Festival travel raffle was “so successful” that the Yellowknife organization is bringing it back for 2025.
The summer raffle, which raises money for the month-long March festival, is open to residents of Yellowknife, Dettah, Ndılǫ and the Ingraham Trail. Tickets are $5 each, with discounts if you buy in bulk.
The first-place winner gets a choice between winning half of the final pot raised or two round-trip tickets anywhere Air Canada flies in North America, including Mexico, Hawaii and the Caribbean. Second place receives the other prize.
Last year’s winner brought home $4,635 in cash. All money raised from the raffle supports the construction of next year’s Snowcastle on the frozen Yellowknife Bay and the winter festival’s other activities.
Tickets will be sold until August 3. The winner will be announced from the Snowking booth on the last day of this summer’s Ramble & Ride festival in Yellowknife’s Old Town.

2026 will mark the 31st edition of Snowkings’ Winter Festival. “Planning is already under way to make it the best one yet,” organizers said.
