The 2025 edition of Yellowknife’s Old Town Ramble & Ride will run from August 1-3, featuring music and activities for all ages.
The festival will kick off on Friday, August 1 with an evening concert featuring Ryan McCord, Munya Mataruse, Carmen Braden and the band taylor saracuse and some other dead people.
“The kick-off concert on Friday will get everything going and all afternoon Saturday and Sunday we have music lined up,” festival coordinator Amber O’Reilly told Cabin Radio.
The weekend incorporates food vendors and art alongside music, a kids’ zone featuring bouncy castles, face painting, arts and crafts, and a vendor market with more than 35 exhibitors.
Events include an open house at the Yellowknife Marine Rescue Unit and photos in a log cabin with “old-time costumes and props.”

Saturday features a bike parade on Latham Island, a paddle race and floatplane rides.

Local businesses are taking part in Ramble & Ride’s “Passport to Old Town”, through which you can visit participating stores, collect stamps and enter to win prizes.
A mural will gradually come to life throughout the weekend and a “Trashformation” exhibit is part of the festival’s visual arts programming.

Due to construction occurring at the Old Town parking lot, attendees are asked to park in the Sir John and St Pat’s parking lots this year.
The city will provide free transit down Franklin Hill into Old Town on Saturday, as there is very limited parking in Old Town. Organizers said they are working on a shuttle for Sunday.
