NWT RCMP’s major crimes unit has charged a 69-year-old with manslaughter after a man passed away following a reported assault in Behchokǫ̀ on July 31.
Police earlier said officers found the apparent victim unconscious. He was taken to hospital, RCMP said, where he died. That person has not been publicly identified.
In a Friday news release, RCMP said an investigation led by the major crimes unit had resulted in the arrest of Peter John Zoe, a Behchokǫ̀ resident.
Zoe has been charged with manslaughter and released under conditions, RCMP stated.
No further information was made available.
