The City of Yellowknife said it doesn’t appear anyone’s personal information was compromised during a cybersecurity incident last week – but if that changes, it will contact people directly.
On September 15, the city said the breach was affecting access to internal systems and the municipality’s online services.
One week later, the network has been restored and most of the city’s online services have resumed.
Patrons can once again use debit and credit cards to make payments at the city’s facilities, use library computers, and take out more than five items at the library.
CityExplorer, an interactive map portal, is still being restored.

Click and Fix YK, which allows people to submit issues around the city that need to be fixed, is still down. In the meantime, residents can send non-emergency issues via email to [email protected].
While the investigation conducted by third-party experts was ongoing, the city had to limit access to some services and programs.
