Yellowknife’s Capitol Theatre is screening a movie this weekend to celebrate the release of Taylor Swift’s 12th album: The Life of a Showgirl.

The 90-minute film features the world premiere of a new music video for Swift track The Fate of Ophelia alongside interviews and behind-the-scenes footage related to the singer’s latest work.

Screenings in the territorial capital will run from Friday until Sunday.

Capitol Theatre manager Chris Wood said on Thursday 150 tickets have so far been sold across the weekend’s showings.

Tickets can be bought at the Capitol Theatre during its regular opening hours. They are priced at $17, a figure Wood said is set by Swift’s management.

Wood said the film won’t include every song from the album but is more of a preview.

“We’re hoping for some excitement from the Swifties,” he said.

There are nine show times over the three days. See the Capitol Theatre’s website for more details.
