The union representing Canadian North’s pilots says a new collective agreement has been ratified after 82 percent of affected pilots backed it.
The Air Line Pilots Association International, or Alpa, reached a tentative deal with the airline last month that made changes to pay and the hours pilots work.
In a Thursday news release, Alpa said 94 percent of eligible pilots took part in the ratification vote and, of those, 87 percent voted in favour.
The three-year deal “offers improvements to scheduling, compensation, and quality of life,” the union stated.
Alpa said the contract covers about 240 pilots, goes into effect immediately and lasts until December 31, 2028.
