Police in Hay River say they have charged an Alberta man after “seizing quantities of suspected cocaine and carfentanil during a traffic stop.”
According to RCMP, officers in the town arrested two people after a traffic stop and subsequent investigation on November 8.
Police say 14.2 grams of suspected carfentanil and three grams of suspected cocaine were found.
RCMP named Adam Mohammed, an Edmonton 21-year-old, as the man charged. He is accused of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possessing property obtained by crime and obstructing a peace officer.
Mohammed has been remanded into custody, police said, while the other person arrested was released without charge.
