Police say a 22-year-old has been charged after a report of a stabbing triggered a search across Yellowknife that ended at a Bigelow Crescent home.

Residents reported a police presence in various parts of the territorial capital on Sunday evening.

In a statement to Cabin Radio, RCMP said the Yellowknife detachment received a report just before 8pm on Sunday “that a person had been stabbed on the Frame Lake trail.”

“The investigation, which included a search of the trail by officers and a police dog, ultimately determined that the stabbing did not take place on the trail, but rather at a residence on Bigelow Crescent,” RCMP stated.

“A 22-year-old female suspect was taken into custody at the residence.”
