The NWT’s Chief Environmental Health Officer has lifted a precautionary boil-water advisory for Wrigley.
The NWT government issued the advisory on January 14 due to a mechanical failure in the community’s water treatment system.
In an update on Monday, afternoon, The Department of Health and Social Services said the issue had been resolved and the water treatment plant is now functioning normally.
It said no illnesses associated with drinking water in the community had been reported and normal use of drinking could resume.
The department recommended that residents and businesses in Wrigley flush their water supply by:
- running faucets and drinking fountains for one minute;
- flushing and cleaning water-using equipment such as ice makers and coffee makers;
- changing all point-of-use filters;
- running water softeners through a regeneration cycle;
- draining and refilling hot water heaters; and
- draining and cleaning water-holding tanks.
