The City of Yellowknife says its aquatic centre is closing from 5pm on April 5 to 6am on May 2, 2026 for a “comprehensive warranty inspection and related repairs.”
In a Tuesday news release, the city said the closure period was a “scheduled inspection” and a standard step for new buildings.
“It allows contractors and specialists to thoroughly review mechanical, structural, and operational systems, address identified items, and ensure all components continue to operate safely and reliably for residents,” the city stated.
Swim lesson payments for the closure period will be refunded and flexi passes extended to compensate for the shutdown.
