RCMP in Délı̨nę are investigating a reported stabbing last week that involved one person being flown out of the Sahtu community for treatment.
A police spokesperson told Cabin Radio a stabbing was reported to the detachment at about 11:30pm on April 16.
“Officers located the victim at the health center with serious injuries, however they were uncooperative with police,” the spokesperson stated by email. “The victim was subsequently flown from the community for further treatment.”
Police believe the people involved in the incident know each other. Those involved were not identified by RCMP.
No charges have been laid.
“The victim is reported to be recovering from their injuries and has not been able to shed further light on the person(s) responsible to the police,” RCMP stated.
“Anyone with information on this matter is encouraged to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.”
