The NWT Legislative Assembly has opened nominations for the Order of the NWT, the territory’s highest honour.
The award recognizes residents and former residents for their extraordinary achievements and outstanding contributions to the NWT.
Up to three people are appointed to the Order of the NWT each year. According to the Legislative Assembly, since it was created in 2013, more than 30 people have been inducted into the order.
Nominations are reviewed by an advisory council established by the legislature. Current members are Danny Gaudet, Sabrina Broadhead, Ann Peters, Jane Arychuk and Denise MacDonald.

The deadline to submit nominations is August 30.
