Yellowknifers spent the day tracking the movements of multiple loose budgies across the city. We dispatched a reporter to go find them.

Sure, it’s one thing to scroll online and track rogue birds that way. But it turns out to be harder, on foot, to get up close with an escaped budgie in the NWT’s capital.

While there are accounts online of how the birds may have ended up enjoying the freedom of Yellowknife, we weren’t able to reach their apparent owner to confirm the details.

As of 5pm on Tuesday, Cabin Radio had been told at least one of the two budgies was safely back in human care.
