Residents are invited to provide feedback on a proposed Kam Lake development plan during a City of Yellowknife open house on July 23 from 6-7:30pm at the aquatic centre.
“As Yellowknife continues to grow, planning for future commercial, agricultural, light industrial and public utility land uses is important to support local business retention, expansion, and attraction,” the city said in a news release.
Residents can provide feedback on the development plan and zoning by-law amendments after they learn about how the plan was developed, a market study, environmental impact assessment and the rationale behind key recommendations.
The city described the Kam Lake area as “one of Yellowknife’s key employment and business areas.” The proposed land to be developed is about 65 hectares in size and lies to the west of Enterprise Drive.
Feedback gathered at next week’s open house will be considered in the Kam Lake area development plan, the city said.
According to the city’s website, the first reading of the bylaw is expected to take place August 26.
